Mr. Fred C. Tucker, 90, of Hamburg died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at the Beverly Health Care Center in Hamburg. A native of Hamburg and a resident of the Promise Land community outside Hamburg for the past 60 years, he was a retired carpenter and a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Jessie Carnahan Tucker; three brothers, his twin brother Frank and Harry and John D. Tucker; and two sisters, Beatrice Tucker and Corene Yeatman.
Survivors include is wife of 71 years, Mildred Stell Tucker of Hamburg; one sister, Dorothy McCone of Hamburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a..m. Tuesday, March 18, in the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Williams officiating. Burial was to follow services at the Promise Land Cemetery, directed by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were to be Mickey and Rusty McCone, Larry Smith, Emmitt Wallace, Gerald Lauhon and Steven Kelley.
