Mrs. Lydia Bozeman Stell, 79, of Hamburg, who was born April 1, 1924, in Ashley County, died Monday, October 20, 2003, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. A lifelong resident of Hamburg and Ashley County, she was a homemaker who worked at the Hamburg Shirt Factory for over 31 years and was a member of the Martinville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Billy Stell of Hamburg; a special grandson, Billy Bozeman and wife Ruthie of Crossett; a granddaughter, Debbie Rogers and husband Randy of El Dorado; a brother, Fred Bozeman; two sisters, Louise Lansdale and Maxie Carpenter, all of Hamburg; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Zack Bozeman, in 1988; her parents, Tom and Lena Pittman Bozeman; a sister, Mae Dell Bellott and a brother, Lon Bozeman.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home chapel in Hamburg with Rev. Charles Pullin officiating. Pallbearers were Don Kelley, Larry Smith, Lynn Lansdale, Haskell and Charles Carpenter and Joe Mack Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers were Teddy Hickman, Roger White, Bull Wells, Houston Hart, Johnny Foster and Bobby Riley. Burial followed services at the Promise Land Cemetery.
