Individual Details
Nicholas Theodore Economopoulos
(14 Sep 1890 - 9 Jul 1966)
The following information came from Irene Panagakos April 14, 1996:
Nicholas Economopoulos' grandfather was a priest, Father Panayiotis Liarakos.
He was given the title Economos so parishioners called him Father Economou and
the "Economou" became Economopoulos. My family name should have been Liarakos.
From Irene Panagakos, April 14, 1996:
Nicholas Economopoulos had three children with his first wife, Helen , who was
French. He met her after he was wounded during World War I. The Army sent him
to her home to recuperate. They fell in love and after Nicholas returned to
the U.S., he brought Helen to the U.S. Their first child was Dorothea, and
when she was about 6 or 7, Helen took her to France to visit her family.
Dorothea became ill and died and was buried in France. Nicholas and Helen had
2 sons, also. They are my half brothers.
