In June 1996, Carol Petranek went to Mystra Greece and personally saw the town record where Stathula and Kosta are listed. Birth year and place found in town record. Stathula is Kosta's second wife. Her father's name is Demetrios. There was no name listed for her mother.
Stathula is a twin.
Lica Catsakis said Stathula is an endearment term; her name was Eustathia.
Today the name of the town is Theologou Kalyvia.
In April 2004, Carol sent a letter requesting Stathoula's birth certificate. The following was received in reply:

I sent a follow-up letter to the mayor in March 2006, and received a response, but Stathoula is not in their records. However, I did receive documentation which reflects that "tou" in the 2004 letter refers to "daughter of". Received the following 3 records, which may be Stathoula's sister in laws: #1-Lygeri Zaharaki, daughter of Spiridon Alimisis (see last name above) and wife of Dimitrios Zaharakis; children: Konstantina born 1910; Evaggelos born 1914; Panagiotis born 1925; #2-Kanella; #3-Antonia.

They both are of a legitimate age and are not related,according to the divine and holy rules of the Eastern Church.

Death
Before I found Stathoula's death record in the Mystras Agios Spyridon Church Book of Deaths, 1913-2016, I was trying to calculate when Stathoula died. Catherine Pappas Kostakos and Bertha Pappas Pouletsos to Carol Kostakos Petranek: our mother was talking to our father about bringing her mother (Stathoula) to the U.S. to visit, but she died before she was able to come. Since their father, Louis Pappas, died in 1944, Stathoula died sometime before him.In 1988, Aunt Bertha sent me a letter stating that Stathoula became very sick after her son, John, married a young woman [Niki], which caused his daughter[Anastasia who was born to him and his first wife, Giannoula] to run away from home. Anastasia did not want to live with a stepmother (Niki)who was about her age. Since John and Niki married in 1937, AND since my grandparents were planning to bring her to the US, I calculated that Stathoula died around 1940. [NOTE: John & Niki married in November and Stathoula died in October, so Aunt Bertha’s recollection was a bit off – John must have been dating Niki, which caused Anastasia to leave Mystras and Stathoula to become sick]
