Marriage29 Jun 1861Ulladulla, New South Wales, Australia - Mary Simpson ALCORN
Note1871In the winter of 1871 George left his house at Forest Lodge near Berry where he was sharefarming (dairy) with a man named Hodgkinson. He visited his father's house in Sherbrooke, left his horse & saddle, said to have gone on to Sydney, and was never seen again. He apparently took with him the money which was due to the owner of the farm including Hodgkinson's share. According to his father's will written 15 Mar 1881 in which he is mentioned, he was most likely still alive at this time and in touch with the family. However when the family farm at Sherbrooke was resumed by the water authority in 1904 he was not mentioned in legal correspondence so we assume he was dead by this time
Note1872After George left Mary was left destitute and she surrended the 2 eldest boys Wesley & Samuel to the Randwick asylum for Destitute Children
DeathFrom 1881 to 1904
