Daniel DIERDORFF
(1 November 1824 - 7 December 1903)
From Vanessa Stern: 1997, Daniel left PA in May 1851 for the "west" with his wife and one child. They arrived in Lee Co., IL. on June 15th. They settled near Franklin Grove, Bradford Twp., Lee Xo., IL. on a farm on which they lived until their deaths. Daniel united with the Church of the Brethren while still living in York CO., PA, in 1848. They transferred their membership by letter to the Rock River Congr. in 1851. He was elected deacon in 1857, to the first degree of the ministry in 1860 to the second degree in 1862, and to the elder ship in 1878. He served several congregations in Lee Co., and performed over 275 marriages and officiated at many funerals.
