Benjamin DEARDORFF

(22 December 1823 - 29 October 1890)

From Chet Peters Book: Benjamin secured as much education as he could, considering his circumstances. Like other boys in the family, he had to work on the farm during the summers and fall, with only the winter months being available for schooling. He did, however secure sufficient education to enable him to teach in country schools. He taught until he married, then purchased a farm and farmed the rest of his life, mostly in the Preble County area.
