Death
Clayton G. Furr, age 50, of Wallace Neal Rd., Route 4, died suddenly Saturday, Oct. 26, 1968. He was an excavating sub contractor for the City of Charlotte. Born Oct. 6, 1913 in Stanley County, N. C. He was a member of Berryhill Baptist Church. Funeral services 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28th at the Berryhill Baptist Church, officiating the Rev. B. Clyde Simpson. Burial will be in Forest. Lawn Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, the former Mildred Shaw; three daughters, Miss Sandra Furr, and Miss Ann Furr, both of the home, Mrs. Daniel Brookshire of Lexington, N. C.; one son, Daniel Furr of Spartanburg, S. C.; two sisters, Mrs. W. D. Yarbrough, Mrs. Clifford Brinkle both of Lexington, N. C.; one brother, George C, Furr of Albemarle, N.C. The body will lie in state from 2:30 until the hour of the service. The family will receive friends from the Harry and Bryant Funeral Home Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, October 27, 1968
