Death
MRS. MARY FURR – LEXINGTON – Mrs. Mary Bell Morrison Smith Furr, 89, of Centerclair Nursing Home, formerly of 603 Oak Ave., died Thursday in Lexington Memorial Hospital. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Spruce Street Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Furr was a native of Wilkes County and a homemaker. Survivors are sons, James Everett Smith, Charlie Vernon Smith and Luther Jimmy Smith of Lexington, Daniel Clayton Furr of Spartanburg, S. C.; daughters, Mrs. Stella Benson of Welcome, Mrs. Tommy Johnson and Mrs. Mary Ann Westbrook of Lexington; brother, Luther M. Morrison of Wilkesboro; sisters, Mrs. Annie Lee Simpson of Wilkesboro and Mrs. Bretta Elizabeth Campbell of Melbourne, Fla.; 27 grandchildren. The family will be at Vogler’s-Piedmont Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Saturday, other times the home of Luther Jimmy Smith, 404 Spruce St.Endnotes
