Death

Mrs. Rose Furr Civil of Charlotte died Sunday, October 22, 2000 at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Monroe. She was 74. A native of Mecklenburg County, Mrs. Civil was the daughter of the late Roy A. Furr and Katherine Pope Furr. She was a homemaker and a former member of the Prospect Presbyterian Church of Mooresville. Other than her parents, two sisters, Barbara Furr Cook and Joyce Furr, preceded Mrs. Civil in death. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at Sharon Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Doug Agnew. Mrs. Civil is survived by her husband, John K. Civil; a daughter, Rene G. Hinote and husband, Lloyd of Monroe; and a son, Sam Gibson and wife, Susan of Charlotte. Other survivors include a sister, Mildred Graham of Calabash, NC and two grandchildren: John Carl Stover, 30, and wife, Sharon of Lauringburg and Samuel Tyler Gibson, age 4 of Charlotte. A niece, Paula Mangum and husband, Carol of Creedmore also survive her. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 2007 Stallings Road, Harrisburg, NC 28075.
