Death
Mrs. Kate Pope Furr, 82, of 916 Academy St. died April 24, 1987, at Presbyterian Hospital of kidney failure. Funeral is 11 a.m. Monday at McEwen Funeral Home, Charlotte chapel. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park. Mrs. Furr, a Mecklenburg County native, was a member of Spencer Memorial United Methodist Church and formerly worked for Johnson Manufacturing Co. Survivors are her daughters, Mrs. Mildred Graham of Calabash, Mrs. Rose Civil, Mrs. Barbara Cook; sister, Mrs. Flossie Hinson of Sparta; half brother, Bill Pope; half sister, Mrs. Essie Kwell; nine grandchildren; eight great-grand- children; one great-great-grand- child. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at McEwen Charlotte chapel.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, April 25, 1987
