Death

LAUREL HILL — Charles Andrew Furr Sr., age 64 of Laurel Hill died Dec. 4, 2014 at the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Bobby Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Baptist Church Cemetery in Vass, North Carolina. Charles was born on May 19, 1950 in Moore County son to the late James T. and Martha Ann Wilkes Furr. Charles was a veteran of the US Army. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending his career as a mate on a Push Boat crew before retiring. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother that will truly be missed. Charles is survived by his wife, Josephine R. Furr of the home; sons, Michael Sparks, Eric Manor, Gary Furr and Charles A. (Chuckie) Furr Jr.; daughters, Ann Sparks, Betty Jo Blackwell, Nancy Bossie, Jody Furr and Christy Dunlap; brother, Bobby Furr and sisters, Josephine Starnes, Polline Lloyd, Earlene Dowd and Gladys Burrows; 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service in Laurinburg.
