Death

Rose "Peggy" Ellen Furr Holt, age 77 of Albemarle, NC passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 in the CHS Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC. Her service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Albemarle Wesleyan Church, Albemarle, NC with the Rev. James Vaulk and Rev. Michael Grier officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle, NC. The family will receive friends at the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Mrs. Holt was born September 25, 1939 in Stanly County, NC. to the late Paul S. Furr and Fannie Durilla Moyle Furr and was a homemaker. She was a member of Albemarle Wesleyan Church. She was active in her church, loved cooking for her family, and cherished her grandchildren. She was married to Eldon "Nookie" Holt who survives of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Kelly Holt Hill and husband Kenny and Karen Holt Hahn and husband David both of Albemarle, NC, two brothers, Cecil James Furr and Donnie D. Furr, both of Albemarle, NC, one sister Louise Furr Holt of Albemarle, NC, three grandsons, Brett Jamison Hill, Carl Jackson Hill, and Dillon Lee Hahn, one granddaughter, Kara Hahn Hatley and husband Tim. Memorials may be made to Albemarle Wesleyan Church, 33713 Mann Road, Albemarle, NC 28001 or CHS Tucker Hospice House, 5005 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, N.C. 28081. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Stanly Regional, Dr. Rufus Lefler, and the caring staff of CHS Tucker Hospice House for the compassionate care they gave during this time.
