Death

Beloved mother, Doris Angeline Furr, age 90, of Danville, Virginia, passed away on Saturday December 03, 2022 at Piney Forest Health and Rehab. Doris was born on November 12, 1932, in Danville, Virginia to the late Robert Franklin Furr and Della Angeline Hardy Furr. Doris worked at Dan River Mills before her retirement. Doris is survived by daughter, Angeline McKinney (Nathan); brothers, Owen "Bootie" Furr, and Freddy Furr; sister, Frances Cook; daughter-in-law, Louise Wheatley; grandchildren, Crystal Mckinney, Brandi Mills (Jerry), and Amandia Hughes (Ulysses); 7 great-grandchildren, Brianna Morris (Zack), Paige Bennington (Nick), Madison Mills, Tre Mills, Carmen Hughes, Jacob Hughes, and Jayden Hughes; and special neighbor and friend Vernell Grifo. In addition to her parents Doris was predeceased by son, William "Billy" Wheatley Jr.; daughter, Cynthia Durham; brothers, Tommy Furr, Franklin Furr, and Robert Furr; sister, Virginia Coleman. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 07, 2022, at 11 am at Melville Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Swanson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will follow at Floral Hill Memorial Gardens. Swicegood Funeral Service is respectfully serving the Furr family.
