Death
James Levi Furr, 83 year-old, Seminole resident passed from this life Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born May 5, 1926 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to parents Walter Furr and Etta Mae Furr. James served in the United States Air force and worked as a special equipment operator for Del Monte Foods from 1963 until his retirement in 1983. He married Naomi Theresa Louise (MacSchooler) in Reno, Nevada in 1963. James was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church and also served as a reserve police officer in Live Oak, California. He moved to Seminole in February of 2007 from Live Oak. Survivors include five sons and a daughter-in-law, James D. Furr of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, Michael Clark of Nevada, Richard L. Furr and his wife Rhonda G. Furr of Sutter, California, Mark Lester Clark of Phoenix, Arizona and Rodney L. Furr of Seminole, Oklahoma; two daughters and a son-in-law, Doris Mae Davis and her husband Michael Davis of Live Oak, California and Wanda Hope Race of Seminole, Oklahoma; four sisters, Juanita Jean Wooton of Visalia, California, Mary Lee Marsh of Seminole, Oklahoma, Peggy LaNadine Sorrell of Seminole, Oklahoma and Patricia “Patty” Darlene Campbell of Seminole, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other family and dear friends. James is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Naomi Furr; one son, David Clark; and by one sister Betty Flo Stone. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2010 at Little Cemetery located just North of Seminole on Hwy. 99 with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.Endnotes
