Death

Funeral services for James Donald Furr, 67, of Fort Gibson, OK, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Citizens Cemetery with Pastor Dwayne Estep officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Fort Gibson. James was born November 16, 1946 in Hulbert, OK, the son of Walter and Wanda (Estep) Rinehart and died Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Independence, KS. James worked as a manufacturing engineer and was a member of Oldham Memorial Baptist Church. He was employed for nearly ten years with the Prestolite Electrical Division in Wagoner. James was responsible for machine tooling and processes, equipment and tooling design, specifications, purchases, programming, and cost reductions. James was also a proud member of the National Guard. Survivors include his mother, Wanda Rinehart of Fort Gibson; two children, Deborah Shamblin and husband, Jerry, of Independence, KS; Gregory Furr of Farmington, AR; two sisters, Pamela Campbell and husband, Denny, Mary Moody and husband, Larry, all of Fort Gibson; brother, Dale Rinehart and wife, Robin, of Wagoner; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Deloris McLelland. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Rinehart. In memory of James, the family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society.
