In 1836, he bought from the United States 40 acres of land at $1.29 per acre. It was on Fords Creek which runs into Little Bahala on Christian Furr's place. On Aug 17, 1840, Jacob Furr, administrator of the estate of Isham Furr, sold this land to John Ray, Jr.
