Death
Charles Ray Furr, 85, died Sunday, November 28, 2010, at his home in Canton. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton, with burial in the Canton Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Breeland Funeral Home on Monday, November 29, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Mr. Furr was born in Magnolia, Mississippi, to James M. and Susan M. Furr. After graduating from Magnolia High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He moved to Canton where he met and married Dot Moulder. He was a member of Center Terrace Baptist Church where he was a Life Time Deacon. Mr. Furr was also a 50 year member of the Canton Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Dot; daughters, Carol Furr and Susan Edgar (Bruce), both of Canton; grandsons, Justin Russell (Adrienne) of Brandon and Ethan Edgar of Canton; sister, Jeanelle Rushing; sisters-in-law, Paige Bramlette, Jo Ann Foster (David), and Sarah Moulder (Mike); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James N. Furr; and sisters, Grace Mejia and Linda Blackmon.
