Death
Funeral services for J. M. Furr, 83, of 139 South Sunset Terrace, wilI be conducted at 2 p m., Tuesday in Baldwin Chapel, with Dr. Allen O. Webb and Dr. Kermit Canterbury officiating. Mr. Furr died early Monday in a Jackson hospital after a brief illness. A native of Wesson, he had lived in Jackson for 18 years. He worked for Raymond McClinton Department Store until his retirement in 1959. He was a deacon over 40 years and a member of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan Middleton Furr, Jackson; two sons, James N. Furr, Jackson, and Charles Ray Furr, Canton; three daughters, Mrs. Grace Mejia and Mrs. Linda Blackmon, both of Jackson, and Mrs. Janelle Rushing, Morton; a brother, Walter L. Furr, Wesson; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Reynolds, Hattiesburg; 11 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.Clarion-Ledger, Jackson, Mississippi, August 9, 1966
