Death
Funeral services for Mrs. Esther Jeffries, 60, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Union Baptist Church with Rev. E. B. Redus officiating. Mrs. Jeffries died suddenly Saturday afternoon late. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W. B. Gwin; four sons, William, Charles, James and Herman Jeffries; one brother, Charles Furr, and five sisters, Mrs. Lena Edmundson, Mrs. Nettie Thompson, Mrs. Joe Hurd, Mrs. Addie Keller, Mrs. Lula Thompson. Burial took place at Union Cemetery with Jacobs in charge.The Birmingham News, Birmingham, Alabama, November 7, 1927
