Death

BESSEMER, Ala., Jan. 9. — Special — Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Furr, 80, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nettie Thompson, at Powderly, Thursday afternoon after a short illness of pneumonia. Mrs. Furr was a pioneer of this district, having lived here for many years. She is survived by one son, Charlie Furr, and six daughters, Mrs. Robert Jefferies, of Lipscomb; Mrs. Addie Keller, of Ensley; Mrs. Lula Thompson, Mrs. Leonard Edmundson, Mrs. J. D. Hurd and Mrs. Nettie Thompson. Funeral services were to he held at the Lipscomb Methodist Church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. J. W. McCarty officiating. Interment at Union cemetery. The pallbearers, grandsons of Mrs. Furr, are Lloyd Keller, Harry Keller, Charlie Jefferies, James Jefferies, William Jefferies and Roland Hurd.
