Death
ALBEMARLE — Funeral services for Travis M. Almond will be held tomorrow afternoon 2 o'clock at Running Creek Baptist Church near here with Rev. F. F. Huneycutt, pastor of the church in charge. Mr. Almond died at his home near Stanfield early this morning after several days with pneumonia. He was a prominent merchant and farmer of the Lambert Post Office section, Western Stanly County. He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Rosena Furr, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Almond, five sons Roy Lentz, Coolidge, T. M. Jr., Aubrey, three daughters Mrs. Curtis Tucker, Misses Ethel and Mildred Almond, all of Stanly County. Two sisters, Mrs. Obbie Helms of Stanfield and Mrs. Dora Hatley of Concord, and one brother Rufus Almond of Stanly County also survive.The Charlotte News, Charlotte, North Carolina, January 29, 1939
