Death
CONCORD — Mrs. Lela Furr Cook, 91, formerly of Cedar Street, died Dec. 22, 1995, at Brian Center in Charlotte. Funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday in Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Clipp officiating. Burial is In Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A native of Cabarrus County, she was born Oct. 1, 1904. She retired from Cannon Mills Plant No. 2 and was a member of Kerr Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Cook was preceded In death by her husband, Lewis Daniel Cook, and daughter, Katherine Furr Collier. Survivors include sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Taylor, Mrs. Beulah Proctor and Mrs. Carrie Barnhardt, all of Concord; grandson, Thomas Wane Collier of Indian Trail, granddaughter, Mrs. Kathy Craig of Harrisburg, and two great-grandchildren.
