Marriage
CONCORD-—Miss Virginia Frances Seahorn and John Franklin Furr were married in York, S. C. July 18 and will reside in Concord with the latter's parents. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ruby Taylor Seahorn. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M.L. Furr, all of Concord.The Charlotte News, Charlotte, North Carolina, July 21, 1942
Death
CONCORD — John Franklin Furr, 57, of 251 Cedar Dr. died at 11:15 a. m. Thursday at his home, after an illness of two years. Mr. Furr was born in Cabarrus County Sept. 11, 1910, son of the late Milas Furr and Mrs. Ada Bell Grim Furr. He was a member of Kerr St. Baptist Church and an employee of Cannon Mills Plant 2 for 37 years. Funeral services will be conducted at Kerr St. Baptist Church at 2 p. m. Saturday by Rev. C. Eugene Carroll, pastor, and Rev. Ray Harrington of Coldwater Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The body will remain at Wilkinson's Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state half an hour prior to the rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p. m. today. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Edwards Littles Furr; one step-son. Edward Littles of Hornell, N.Y.; six sisters, Mrs. Lewis Cook, Mrs. Floyd Barnhardt, Mrs. Sally Love, Mrs. Earl Taylor, Mrs. Gene Procter and Miss Elizabeth Furr, all of Concord.The Daily Independent, Kannapolis, North Carolina, December 1, 1967
