Death

Mr. Furr, 83, of Pineville, NC, died May 15, 2006 at Pineville Rehabilitation. He was born on March 26, 1923 in Pineville, a son of the late Oliver Isadore and Daisey Cole Furr. He was also preceded in death by his wife Helen Moore Furr and brother Melvin L. Furr. Oren had retired from the Mecklenburg County ABC Board with 33 years of service. He was a member of Pineville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Melanie Bower and her husband, David Bower; granddaughter, Caitlin Bower, all of Pineville; his sister, Dorothy Furr Ware of Greenville, SC; and two nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 South Polk St., Pineville, with the Reverend Dr. Thomas Herin officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 o'clock until the time of service at the church.
