Death

Mrs. Daisy Lois Furr, 65, of Pineville died yesterday morning at 10:30 o’clock in a local hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Pineville Methodist Church. Interment will be in Sharon Memorial park. The Rev. T. A. Summey, pastor of Pineville Methodist Church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Robert Stamey, the Rev. A. M. Faulkner, and the Rev. Doyle Smith. Serving as active pallbearers will be Charles Baker, Charlie Howie, J. R. Miller, Sam Satterfield, Clayton Carroll, and Preston Grier. Honorary pallbearers will be stewards of Pineville Methodist Church. The body will remain at McEwen Funeral Home until 5 o'clock this afternoon, when it will be taken to the residence to remain until the hour of the service. Mrs. Furr was born June 18, 1886 In Mecklenburg County. She was a member of Pineville Methodist Church and of the Woman's Society of Christian Service. Surviving Mrs. Furr are her husband, Oliver J. Furr, a daughter, Mrs. H. C. Ware of Charlotte; two sons, Melvin Furr of Philadelphia, Pa., and Oren Furr of the home; a half sister, Mrs. Marley Darnell of Mecklenburg County; and four grandchildren.
