Notes
Death
Lincoln county friends and relatives of Mrs. Bettie Case, widow of the late J. L. Case, were deeply shocked and grieved when it was learned that she had passed away suddenly Saturday morning at 6:30 o'clock in Meridian where she had gone just a few days before for a visit in the home of her son, Ira Case. Mrs. Case was 77 years of age and was greatly loved, especially in the Beaver Creek community where she had resided practically her entire life. She was a life-long resident of Lincoln county and a member of the Macedonia Baptist church. Possessed of a pleasing personality, she made friends wherever she went. The body was brought to her home which she shared with her son, Bennie Case and family. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from Old Macedonia church, Rev. P. B. Green officiating at the last sad rites. A mound of exquisite flowers, tributes of love and respect, marked the last resting place in Macedonia cemetery where all that was mortal of this splendid woman was laid to await the resurrection morn. Left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Case are the following sons and daughters: Leo Case of near Brookhaven; Willie Case, McComb; Ira Case, Meridian; Bennie Case of near Brookhaven; Mrs. Lela Welch, McComb; Mrs. Alma Newell and Mrs. Mary Hammonds of Brookhaven. Sympathy is extended those bereaved. 5/1/1942Endnotes
