Death
SUNBURY — E. Jeanne Teisher, 91, of Sunbury, having spent the last six years at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011. Jeanne was born in Sunbury on May 28, 1920, a daughter of the late Charles Bruce and Helen Lombard (Smith) Furr. She married Robert G. Teisher in 1942, and his death in August 2004 separated them in this life after 62 years of marriage. Jeanne graduated from Sunbury High School in 1938. When her children were young, Jeanne and Robert moved their family to California, where she was a seamstress and model for the Olga Ladies’ Apparel Company. After returning to Sunbury, she worked for The Daily Item as a typesetter and retired after working there for many years. She then helped her daughter, Jackie, in her interior design shop, Top to Bottom Design, from about 1980. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury. Jeanne was beloved by her family, a wonderful mother and grandmother, and her family was the center of her life. She enjoyed traveling and especially loved to talk about her adventures in Australia. She enjoyed gardening, felt a kinship with animals and loved baking her famous pound cakes. She had a special talent for music and could play many instruments without any formal training and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She was always willing to entertain her friends at Penn Lutheran Village with her harmonica. Surviving are her three children, Jacquelyn S. Taylor, of Sunbury, Kathy A. and Richard Kirkpatrick, of Selinsgrove, and Robert V. and Susan, of Muncy; seven grandchildren, Robert, Sean, Richard, Tammy, Adam, Katy and Keegan; six great-grandchildren, Sadie, Gage, Leticia, Maika, Ian and Jared; one sister, Suzanne Adelson, of Aurora, Colo.; niece, Carole; nephew, Charles “Chuck;” and her aunt, Lois Baldanza. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury.Endnotes
