Death
Mrs. Nena Holtzclaw Furr, 75, of Rt. 3 Matthews, N.C. passed away Wednesday, August 2, 1972 in a local hospital. The services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 5, at McEwen West Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Hartley of Idlewild Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in Emmanuel Cemetery in Union County. Mrs. Furr was born January 25, 1897 in Catawba, N. C., daughter of the late David A. and Mary Joanne Hill Holtzclaw. She retired from the Candy Dept. of the Lance Packing Co. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. James A. "Dorothy" McGraw and Mrs. Betty S. Williams, both of Mint Hill, and Mrs. C. W. "Gloria" Cook of East Point, Georgia; two sons, Ransom H. Furr of Indian Trail and Jon Wesley Furr of Charlotte; one sister, Mrs. T. A. House of Charlotte; four half sisters, Mrs. Frances Braswell, Mrs. Mary Hartsell, Miss Laura Holtzclaw, all of Charlotte and Mrs. Lonnie Riggins of Monroe; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
