Death
Sweetwater - Maggie Rena Johnson, 88, died Sunday in a local nursing home. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Lamar Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Orvel Brantley officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home. Born in Dallas, Ore., she was a longtime Sweetwater resident. She was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church and was in charge of the nursery for 20 years. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Rubye Linebaugh of Sweetwater and Shirley Reeves of Merkel; two sisters, Maudie Shelton of Oklahoma City and Minnie Shepherd of Olney; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.The Abilene (TX) Reporter, Noember 3, 1987
