Death
Services were held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. for Mrs Maggie Martin Furr, who died at 5:30 p.m.Saturday at Marks Clinic. Dr. Ira Eavenson officiated at the funeral services at Marks Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Marks Cemetery with Kimbrough Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Furr, 80, was born in Germantown, Tenn., and had lived in Qutiman County since 1909. She was the widow of Vinn A. Furr, a pioneer of Quitman County. A charter member of the Marks Presbyterian Church, she was also a charter member and first president of the Sylvan Progressive Club in Belen, Miss. Mrs. Furr was also an active member and officer of the James Gilliam Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She leaves two sons, V. A. Furr Jr. of Marks, and Dr. Joe Furr of Indio, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. E. E. Cannon of Pomona, Calif, Mrs. T. E. Long of Terry, Miss, and Mrs. J. H. Roseberry of Marks and six grandchildren.Endnotes
