Death

Mrs. Eva Helms, 70, of 1204 North Allen street died yesterday at 12:20 p. m. at a local hospital after an illness of several weeks. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. J. L. Younts of Indian Trail, Mrs. F. L. Long, Mrs. M. W. Hinson, and Mrs. James Montgomery of Charlotte, and Mrs. W. W. Farabee of San Francisco, Calif.; two sons, L. A. and O. K. Helms of Charlotte; 20 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Furr and Oscar Furr of Osceola, Fla., and David Furr of Union county. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Belmont Park Methodist church, conducted by Rev. J. W. Fitzgerald. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. The body will remain at the home of her son, O. K. Helms, 715 Thomas avenue, until the hour of the funeral. Pallbearers will be Berry Gibson, Bryant Atkins, W. C. House, M. J. Covington, J. W. Cooke, J. I. Freeman, Ralph Bartlett, and C. E. Cooke.
