KANNAPOLIS - Mr. Hoyle Junior Furr 65, Patio Lounge owner, died March 25, 1992, at home. Funeral is 4 p.m. today at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors are his wife, Carolyn; son, Steven Furr of Myrtle Beach; daughters, Mrs. Connie Russell of Myrtle Beach, Mrs. Daria Church of Concord, Mrs. Felicia Winecoff; sister, Mrs. Doris Wolff of Salisbury. KANNAPOLIS — Hoyle Junior Furr, 68, of 309 Windy Rush Road, died at 6:20 pm Wednesday, March 25, 1992, at his home. He had been in declining health for six months and seriously ill for two months. The funeral will be 4 pm Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Garland Faw, pastor of Truth Temple. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and the remainder of the time at the home on Windy Rush Road. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, PO Box 1285, Concord, NC 28026. Born Feb. 20, 1927 in Stanly County, Furr was a son of the late Charles and Ruth Taylor Furr. Employed by Southern Railway Co in his earlier years, he worked during the 1960's for Eastern Finance Corp and became general manager. From 1978 to 1988, he owned and managed the Patio Lounge in Salisbury. A member of Spencer Moose Lodge, he was a charter member of Harold B. Jarrett American Legion Post 342. He was a US Navy veteran. He had been a resident of the Kannapolis area for the past five years, living in Salisbury before that. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Yost Furr. a son, Steven Ray Furr of Myrtle Beach, SC, three daughters, Connie Russell of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Daria Church of Concord and Felicia Winecoff of Kannapolis. A sister, Doris Wolff of Salisbury, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
