Death
KANNAPOLIS — Mrs. Virginia Regina Boyd, 44, of 906 Skyland Drive, Kannapolis, died at 12:25 this morning at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for five days. Born in Virginia, on December 18, 1917, she was the daughter of the E. A. and Mary Davis Furr. She was employed in the sewing room on the second shift at Cannon Mills. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Skyland Baptist Church by the Rev. Alvin E. Tweed and the Rev. Odell Funderburke. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Linda Boyd Williams of the home; two brothers, James Jacob Furr of Kannapolis and Macon Furr of Newport News, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. F. H. Wilson of Kannapolis and Mrs. William Godfrey of Kannapolis. The body will be taken from Lady’s Funeral Chapel in Kannapolis to the home at 10 o'clock Thursday morning and will remain there until it is taken to the church for the final rites.The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, August 15, 1962
