Death
NEWPORT NEWS — Macon Eugene Furr, 70, of Dafia Lane, No. 109, died Friday at Williamsburg Community Hospital. He was born in Kannapolis, N.C. A Peninsula resident for more than 40 years, he was a‘member of Second Presbyterian Church and its deacon board. He retired in 1980 as maintenance superintendent at Stewart Gardens Corp. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sarah Furr; a daughter, Mrs. Lisa F. Wilkins of Newport News; a son, Michael P. Furr of Springfield; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Godfrey of Kannapolis, N.C.; and a grandchild. A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Peninsula Funeral Home by the Rev. H. L. Wilson, pastor of Second Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Parkslawn Memorial Park. The family is at the residence of the daughter, 528 Youngs Mill Road and will receives friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.Daily Press, Newport News, Virginia, March 4, 1984
