Death

Mrs. Muriel Williams Furr, 91, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, at her home. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the Pineville Church of the Nazarene with Revs. Dewey Wise and Mark Barnes officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte, NC. Born in Mecklenburg County, Muriel was a daughter of the late Hosey Williams and Virgie Bivens Williams. She was a member of the Pineville Church of the Nazarene where she was a faithful member of her Sunday School Class. She loved her Lord, her church and its members. She was a 1944 graduate of Oakhurst High School in Charlotte, NC. She retired from Lance Inc. after 24 years of service and she worked as a supervisor for many years. She is survived by her three sons, Larry Furr of the home, Garry Furr of Mt. Holly, NC, and James "Jimmy" Furr, Jr. of Great Falls, SC; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Lee Furr, Sr.; a son, CPL Donald Michael Furr; a daughter, Joyce F. Boone; a grandson, Mark Lane Furr; three brothers; and four sisters (Muriel was the last of the 8 children).
