Death
John G. Furr, 87, of Long Beach died Saturday, March 2, 1991, in Gulfport. Mr. Furr was a native of Wesson. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Long Beach and a former member of the Long Beach Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clara Furr of Long Beach; two daughters, Edvige F. Oliver of Huntsville, Ala., and Jane Beard of Long Beach; a son, Glenn H. Furr of San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren, including Steve Lafontaine of Eureka Springs, Ark., Nancy Oliver Davis, Toni Oliver Headrick and Heather R. Oliver of Huntsville, Ala., Mary Furr O'Donnell of Augusta, Ga., and Lorie Furr of Duquesne, Pa.; and four great-grandchildren, Monique Lafontaine of Eureka Springs, John O'Donnell, Sean O'Donnell and Richie O'Donnell of Augusta. A private memorial service was held. The family prefers memorials to First United Methodist Church of Long Beach.The Sun Herald, Biloxi, Mississippi, March 12, 1991
