Death
Helen Furr Austin, born 1925, passed on Sunday, June16, 2024. She was a longtime resident of Mobile and member of Dauphin Way Methodist Church. She graduated from Murphy High School then attended Springhill College. She was a dedicated housewife and excellent cook. Helen had a love of reading which she utilized as librarian for several years at Julius T Wright School. She enjoyed her summers with her family on Mobile Bay. Preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Philip Gendron Austin and their son, David Belden Austin. Survived by son, Philip Gendron Austin III (Jeannie) and daughter in law, Lisa Gunter Austin: five grandchildren; Brigg Hails Austin, Blakeley Austin Nash, Sarah Austin Isbell, Anna Austin Thomas, and David Belden Austin, Jr.: and seven great grandchildren. Grave side services to be held at Pinecrest Cemetery on Wednesday, June19, 2024 at 11:00am.Endnotes
