Death
CONCORD — Minnie Furr Morsion, 89, formerly of South Ridge Avenue, Kannapolis, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday at the home of her son, Herman W. Morrrison of 16 Barbee Road, after belng in declining health for six months. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Brookdale Baptist Church with the Rev. W.M. Anthony officiating. Burial will be in Kannapolis Cemetery. The family will be at Whitley's Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and at the home of her son the remainder of the time. Born Dec. 21, 1895, in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Julius C. and Bettie Ledbetter Furr, she was retired in 1959 from Cannon Mills Co. Plant One number five weave room. She was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Citizens Club. She was a lifetime resident of the area. Her husband, John T. Morrison, died in 1959. Survivors, in addition to a son, include one other son, James R. “Jack” Morrison of Concord; one daughter, Mable Fink of China Grove; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.Endnotes
