Death
Virginia F. Mitchell, age 84, of Kiowa, died Friday, June 1, 2018 at her home. Virginia was born on April 10, 1934 in Pleasant Valley, Oklahoma to Marcus Tom and Georgia Lilly (Shults) Furr. She married James Hillery Mitchell on December 4, 1952 in Kiowa, Oklahoma. She enjoyed cooking, country drives and remembering her childhood days. Her life was built around her children and family. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Georgia (Shults) Furr; grandparents, Byrd Smith Furr, Fannie Francis Little, Henry Harvey Shults and Virginia Jennie Hartley; great-grandson, Braxton A. Stuteville; brothers, Harvey Furr, Markis Furr and Dexter Furr; sisters, baby girl, Arlene Furr, Earlene Allen and Irene Mitchell. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with Pastor Daniel Wortham officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Cemetery.Endnotes
