Death
Donald Jackson Furr, 49, of Ola, died Wednesday, August 13, at the Veterans Hospital at Little Rock. He was a retired merchant seaman, the son of the late Newton R. Furr, a veteran of World War II and a Methodist. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Muncie Jackson Furr of Ola; two brothers, Eugene Furr of Ft. Smith and James Furr of Hot Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Euda Mae Forrest of Ola and Mrs. Geraldine Sinkey of North Little Rock. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday at Humphrey Chapel by the Rev. Kreise. Internment was at the Nimrod Cemetery near Plainview. Pallbearers were: Active, Tom Watson, Tim Phillips, Fred Montgomery, Glen Poteet, Tom Blythe and Randal Forrest. Honorary, Elmer Sinkey, Tommy Coker and Albert Slawson.Endnotes
