Death
DANVILLE — Euda Mae Forrest, 89, of Plainview died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. Born Nov. 4, 1919, in Vian, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Dolphie and Muncie Jackson Furr. She was a member of the Plainview First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school there for many years. Euda Mae lived most of her life in the Plainview and Nimrod area. She was active in her church, community and with family and friends. She was happiest on the farm tending to her cows and garden. She also enjoyed sharing the fruits of her labor, especially in the form of pecan pie, pound cake and sewing projects. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Odell Forrest; son, Randall Forrest; two grandsons, Tom Potter and Travis Vaught; four brothers, L.D., Eugene, Don and Rassie Furr. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and David Purtle of Braselton, Ga., Becky and Michael Vaught of Conway, Janet and Steve Cousins of El Dorado; daughter-in-law, Martha Forrest, Dardanelle; eight grandchildren and spouses, Michael Ray Potter, Brian and Ryna Purtle, Russ and Angie Forrest, Randee Kay adn Brad Cunningham, Darla and Jonathan Landers, David and Ann Cousins, Sarah Cousins, Erin Cousins; 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and neighbors. Services will be 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Plainview with Rev. Mike Ault and Rev. Monroe Hunt officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Pallbearers will be Michael Potter, Bobby Potter, David Cousins, Brian Purtle, Logan Purtle and Jonathan Landers.The Courier, Russellville, Arkansas, May 26, 2009
