Death
Funeral services were held from the Ebenezer Methodist Church Dec. 12 for Enoch Furr, Sr., 79, of Wagarville and a lifelong resident of Washington County. Conducting final rites at 2 p.m. was the Rev. Jerry Tanton. Interment was in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Cleo Furr, Marvin Furr, Hampton Stanley, Charles Wheat, Ocean Farsons and Billy Bolton. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Furr; four daughters, Mrs. John L. Tarver of Mobile, Mrs. Leon Locke of Mobile, Mrs. Ranny L. McKinley of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Robert Blankenship of Thomasville. Four sons, Willie C. Furr of Grove Hill, Enoch Furr, Jr. of Wagarville, Jake Furr of Selma and John C. Furr of Chatom; two sisters, Mrs. William May of Jackson and Mrs. E. O. Taylor of Gilbertown; two brothers, A. C. Furr of Jackson and Mack Furr of Wilmer; 22 grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives.Washington County News, St. Stephens, Alabama, December 20, 1962
