Notes
Death
Hattiesburg, April 18—Fred W. Furr, 50 years old, former conductor for the Mississippi Central railroad, is at a local hospital in a critical condition from a bullet wound. Furr, officers said, shot himself Friday afternoon while alone in his home, his wife having left an hour before to visit friends in Mobile and his 11-year-old son being in school. Neighbors hearing the report of the revolver rushed to Furr’s home and found him lying unconscious on the bathroom floor. The bullet had gone through the head, entering the right temple. Furr was known to have been despondent because of protracted unemployment.Endnotes
