Death
Services for Mrs. T. L. Hudson were held at 10 Thursday morning at the First Baptist Church. The pastor, the Rev. James H. Fairchild, officiated, assisted by the Rev. R. D, Pearson, pastor of the Baptist Church at Macon, and the Rev. E. E. McPheeters, pastor of the Presbyterian U. S. Church. Burial was in the Memorial Park under direction of Harris Funeral Home. Mrs. Hudson who was 74, died at 2:30 Wednesday morning of a heart ailment. She had been ill the past year and her condition grew worse several days before her death. The former Miss Della Furr, she was born and reared in Attala County and moved to Louisville when she was married to Thomas Lee Hudson Dec. 25, 1903. Mrs. Hudson was a member of the First Baptist Church and had been active in the T. E. L. ladies class of the Sunday School and in the Womans Missionary Society as long as her health permitted. She was a devoted wife and mother, a kind and generous neighbor and good friend to all who knew her. She was a woman of indomitable courage and unusual ability. Afflicted from young girlhood, having lost an entire lower limb, she was industrious and used her hands to a great advantage in beautiful needle work and quilting. Her husband died in June, 1953. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Omer Tucker and Mrs. John Ray, both of Louisville; one brother, Burton Furr of Jackson; four grandchildren, Kenneth, and Joe Ray and Ann Tucker of Louisville, and Mrs. Bob Gray. of Columbus, and one great grandchild, Betty Gray of Columbus. Pall bearers were Howard Hollingsworth, Woodrow Hollingsworth, T. B. Miller, Edgar Smith, Harris Russell and Leon Walker.The Winston County Journal, Louisville, Mississippi, September 17, 1954
