Death
STANFIELD — Edgar James Furr, 69, of Route 3 died Monday at his home. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Philadelphia Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Furr was a native of Stanfield and retired employee of Duke Power. Surviving are wife, Erma Clark Furr; sons, Neal Furr of Raleigh, Michael Furr of Chapel Hill; stepsons, Dwight Barbee of Stanfield, Tommy Barbee of Midland, Randy Barbee of Rock Hill; stepdaughter, Mrs. Madelyn Efird of Locust; brother, Harold Furr of Stanfield; sisters, Mrs. Connie Kennedy of Oakboro, Mrs. Gladys Cranford of Thomasville; one granddaughter. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, P.O. Box 99, Albemarle, N.C, 28002.
