Death
Henry Braxton Furr, 73, of Matthews died Thursday of a heart attack at Windy Hill Beach, S. C where he had gone on a fishing trip. Mr. Furr had been in declining health several years. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, and the body is at McEwen Funeral Home Mr. Furr was born May 8, 1880 in Stanly County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Franklin Furr. He was a retired sales representative for W. T. Raleigh Co, and was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics and of the Matthews Men's Club. Surviving Mr. Furr are his wife, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Fink Furr; a daughter, Mrs. J. E. Hartis of Matthews; four sons, Everett G. Furr of Matthews, Herman W. Furr of Mooresville, Max F. Furr of Wilmington, and James C. Furr of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Elmira Harwood of Albemarle and Mrs. Maggie Hatley of Badin; two brothers, Lawson Furr of Mount Gilead and Zeb B.
