Death
MT. PLEASANT — Mrs. Cora Furr Allmon, 80, of Mt. Pleasant died at 5 a. m. today in Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p. m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church by the Rev. John C. Corbitt. Interment will follow in the Lutheran Cemetery. The body will be taken from Gordon - Peninger Funeral Home to the residence today at 4 p. m. and will lie in state at the church half an hour prior to the rites. Mrs. Allmon was a native of Stanly County, daughter of the late James Monroe Furr and Mrs. Levina Osborne Furr. She resided in this section most of her life. Her husband, Pless Allmon, died in 1930. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jack Rinehardt of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. A. B. Harwood of Albemarle; five sons, Wilbur, Lewis, Bowman, Ray and R. L. Allmon, all of Mt. Pleasant: two brothers, J. S. Furr of Concord and J. C. Furr of High Point: 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.Independent Tribune, Concord, North Carolina, May 10, 1966
