Death
THOMASVILLE — Dock Furr, 84, of Rt. 2, Light Road, died at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday at Community General Hospital after two-years of illness. He was in critical condition three days. He was born in Haywood County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gaines Furr, and was a retired employe (sic) of Southern Veneer Co. He was a member of Mount Zion Wesleyan Church, where he was a member of the men's Bible class. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Elizabeth Furr of the home; a son W. G. (Bill) Furr of Thomasville; one grandson; and one great-grandson. Funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Mount Zion Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Carroll Upton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at Siler Funeral Home until placed in the church at 2 p.m. Thursday. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.The High Point Enterprise, High Point, North Carolina, December 19, 1973
