Death
MOUNT ULLA - Gladys Furr Turner, 90, Mount Ulla, died Wednesday (May 31, 2000) at Genesis ElderCare of Salisbury. Born May 17, 1910, in the Rimertown community of Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Wade H. and Kate Rowe Furr. A homemaker, she was a member of Thyatira Presbyterian Church, Women of the Church, Harrison Bible Class and Millbridge Senior Citizens. Her husband, John Parker Turner, died Aug. 1, 1989; daughter Barbara Kate Turner Griffin died Sept. 26, 1999. Survivors include son Tom F. Turner, Mount Ulla; daughter Jo Ann Kerr, Mount Ulla, with whom she lived; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Thyatira Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. Stephen A. Moss. Burial, church cemetery. Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. At other times the family will be at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Perry and Jo Ann Kerr, Mount Ulla.
